Ljetna škola s američkim univerzitetom Northwestern
Na temelju Memoranduma o razumijevanju između Univerziteta u Sarajevu i Univerziteta Northwestern, Filozofski fakultet Univerziteta u Sarajevu sudjeluje u organizaciji i realizaciji ljetne škole iz područja javnog zdravstva pod nazivom „Northwestern’s Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina”. Program ljetne škole podijeljen je u dva dijela, s programom u trajanju od mjesec dana u Beogradu a zatim u Sarajevu u razdoblju od 18.7-12.8.2016. godine. Studenti koji dolaze sa Univerziteta Northwestern (Northwestern University, Evanston, savezna država Illinois, SAD) imaju nastavu na Medicinskom fakultetu Univerziteta u Sarajevu, kao i organizirane stručne posjete kulturnim znamenitostima. Centar za naučnoistraživački rad i stručne aktivnosti (Centar NIRSA) s voditeljem Centra, prof. dr. Sanjinom Kodrićem, zadužen je za realizaciju segmenta edukacije iz područja bosanskog, hrvatskog i srpskog jezika, književnosti naroda Bosne i Hercegovine, historije i historije umjetnosti. U partnerstvo su uključeni i Medicinski fakultet Univerziteta u Sarajevu, Fakultet zdravstvenih studija Univerziteta u Sarajevu i Zavod za bolesti ovisnosti Kantona Sarajevo.
Summer School with Northwestern University
Based on the MOU between Northwestern University (Northwestern), Evanston, IL, USA, and the University of Sarajevo (Sarajevo), Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Faculty of Philosophy participates in the organization and implementation of the Summer School “Northwestern’s Comparative Public Health: Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina”. The program in Sarajevo runs for four weeks in Belgrade, Serbia, followed by four weeks in Sarajevo, the latter part of the program taking place from July 18 to August 12, 2016. Students from Northwestern University take classes taught in English at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo, and get field trips and excursions guided by course instructors. The Faculty of Philosophy's Center for Scientific Research and Expert Activities (NIRSA), led by Associate Professor Sanjin Kodrić, is responsible for the sessions in Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian language, literature of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, history and history of art.
The main coordinator for the program on behalf of the University of Sarajevo is Assistant Professor Emina Kiseljaković, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, Faculty of Medicine, and the Northwestern University key coordinator is Global Health Studies Professor Peter Locke.
The Summer School is supported by the University of Sarajevo’s International Relations Office. Ms. Ljiljana Šulentić, Senior International Relations Officer, gave a welcome orientation on the first day of the program. The students were also greeted by Assistant Professor Ksenija Kondali, the Faculty of Philosophy’s Vice-Dean for Scientific Research and International Academic Cooperation, as this school is in charge of the course “Slavic Civilizations: The History, Culture and Politics of Bosnia-Herzegovina”.
The first topics delivered by the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, were Professor Kodrić’s lectures “History and Culture: Literature in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Its Interliterary and Intercultural Character”.
The following day, on July 19, 2016, students were given an introduction to “History and Culture: Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sarajevo, past and present; religious diversity in Bosnia-Herzegovina (Overview until the 19th Century)” by Assistant Professor Emir O. Filipović.
The familiarization with the local culture and customs was continued on July 20, 2016, with classes taught by Assistant Professor Halid Bulić (“Language: Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian-the official languages in Bosnia-Herzegovina; simple conversation in everyday life”).
Associate Professor Edin Radušić and Dr. Amir Duranović delivered the next day’s topics “History and Culture: Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sarajevo, past and present; religious diversity in Bosnia-Herzegovina (Overview of the 19th and 20th Centuries)”. In the second week, they also co-taught a class on “Politics and Transitional Justice in Historical Perspective: War, Justice and Conciliation in Post-War Bosnia-Herzegovina”.
On July 27, 2016, students were guided by Dr. Haris Dervišević through History and Culture: Art and Culture in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
